| Yamamoto Stars for Bears in 8-1 Win | The Sapporo Bears topped the Denki Dynamics, 8-1, at Sapporo Stadium. Sapporo second baseman Torai Yamamoto was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Tsugunosuke Takeuchi, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Dynamics to 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The victory makes Sapporo 8-10.
With Sapporo leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Yamamoto hit a slider from Komiya Takahashi for a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 3-1.
