| Owls Get Clutch Win Versus Hosho | Kento Okada, who finished 5th in the EL in wins with 13 last year, was locked in. The right-hander led the Kyoto Owls to a 2-1 win against the Hosho Reliables at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Kenshin Kon finished to wrap up his 6th save. The win has Kyoto at 11-6.
Kyoto used the hitting of Bungo Arai to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Owls on top, 2-1. For the game, Arai had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Kyoto skipper Tomoya Nagao.
