The Hosho Reliables defeated the Yokohama Kingfishers, 5-3, at Nagoya Minami Stadium. Hosho left fielder Hank Dunham had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Junya Yamagata in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Taishi Yoshimura took the loss. At 9-4, the Reliables have played well so far.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Dunham hit a cutter from Taishi Yoshimura for a 2-run home run. The Reliables, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was bedlam at the end," Dunham said.
