| Kingfishers Suffer 8-2 Loss to Kyoto | Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Owls beat the Kingfishers.
The Kyoto Owls beat the Yokohama Kingfishers, 8-2, at Owls Park. Kyoto second baseman Takanori Matsui banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. The win leaves Kyoto with a record of 5-5.
Tomonori Shimada, the Kyoto third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 4-2, Owls. For the game, Shimada was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Matsui told the Kyoto Times.
