A 4-RBI performance from Bibb Martin, who finished 5th in the EL in stolen bases with 17 in 1965, helped the Yokohama Kingfishers beat the Rakisuta Rams, 10-4. The win takes Yokohama to 5-4.

The Rams had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Kingfishers going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Katsuaki Ishikawa came to the plate. Ishikawa hit a 2-run triple on a 0-1 fastball from Rakisuta hurler Yoshimatsu Shiina. It was Ishikawa's 1st triple of the year.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Masayoshi Nozawa said.
