| Kingfishers 4-1 Victors Over Reliables | The Yokohama Kingfishers picked up a win at Nagoya Minami Stadium, dropping the Hosho Reliables, 4-1. Tadaatsu Sunada, who finished 5th in the EL in strikeouts with 148 in 1957, was the difference-maker. With the loss, Hosho drops to 3-5.
Yoshiyasu Maeda, who finished 5th in the EL in runs with 81 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Maeda contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Yokohama up, 2-1.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Maeda.
