The Sapporo Bears racked up a win at Sapporo Stadium, bumping off the Hosho Reliables, 4-3. Tomochika Takada, who started for Sapporo, pitched effectively for his team. Eisaku Yamaoka picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Junya Yamagata suffered the loss. Hosho is now 6-3.

Yuuto Nakamura was the walk-off hero for Sapporo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bears pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Said Sapporo manager Ritsuo Yoshida: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
