| Owls Lose By a Run at Yokohama | The Yokohama Kingfishers weathered a fine game by Kyoto third baseman Tomonori Shimada to upend the Owls, 7-6, at Kanagawa Stadium. Shimada went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Yokohama goes to 2-2.
Yonekichi Okazaki drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances, while adding 2 RBI for Yokohama. The four-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Naizen Sano. It was his 4th walk of the season.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Okazaki. "You've got to get results."
