Kingfishers Fall Short, 2-1, at Rakisuta
The Rakisuta Rams and Yokohama Kingfishers played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Rakisuta Rams went home winners at Rakisuta Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Shigeyoshi Taira. Taira stifled the Yokohama Kingfishers, enabling Rakisuta to grab the 2-1 win. Rakisuta, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.

Kuranosuke Imakake, who finished 2nd in the WL in batting average with .292 in 1967, helped out the Rakisuta cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher went 1-3.

"Every loss stings," said Yokohama manager Johnny Ruby. "This one is no exception."
