| Reliables Get Better of Dynamics, 3-1 | The Hosho Reliables and Denki Dynamics played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Eichiro Ueno, who is a four-time All-Star, was terrific for the Hosho Reliables in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Denki Dynamics. Ueno picked up the win, and it was well-deserved. Kinichi Ota sewed up the save, his 1st.
Jokichi Kono had a big solo home run for the Reliables in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Hosho leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Shigeto Kawakami and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Reliables on top, 3-1.
"The other side played a good game," said Denki manager Tadashi Iwamoto. "You tip your cap to them."
With the loss, Denki drops to 2-1.
