The Yokohama Kingfishers needed 11 innings to defeat the Rakisuta Rams, 8-6, at Rakisuta Stadium. Yokohama catcher Kunisada Kimura had a superb performance. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Reliever Yoisuke Nishizawa picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Shungo Yasuda took the loss. The win puts Yokohama at 1-1.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Kimura delivered big-time for Yokohama, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Baku Morita. The game-changing hit put the Kingfishers on top, 8-6.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Kimura.
