Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Yokohama Kingfishers home opener. Kiyoji Nakamura started for the home team against Juro Esaki for the Rakisuta Rams. The Kingfishers were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-1, Rakisuta. Juro Esaki, though, was impressive.

The Rams got a big at-bat from center fielder Ryunosuke Onishi. For the game, Onishi was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Rakisuta a 2-0 lead.

Rakisuta manager Kinzo Yoshimura commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
