| Dynamics Suffer 4-1 Road Loss | The Hosho Reliables ushered in the 1963 season with a win versus the Denki Dynamics at Nagoya Minami Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Starting Pitcher Shinki Kimura, who finished 3rd in the EL in strikeouts with 168 in 1958, had a standout performance.
Sunao Morioka, who finished 4th in the EL in on-base percentage with .389 last year, contributed to the Hosho win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
