| 3-2 Win for Kyoto Over Sapporo | Kento Okada, who is a two-time All-Star, had a strong outing for the Kyoto Owls against the Sapporo Bears at Owls Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Okada yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Sapporo drops to 2-2.
Hiroshi Yamashita, who finished 4th in the EL in OPS with .856 in 1970, helped out the Kyoto cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
