| Owls Win Nail-Biter | The Kyoto Owls picked up a win at Rakisuta Stadium, knocking off the Rakisuta Rams, 2-1, in 11 innings. On the mound for Kyoto was right-hander Kento Okada. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Kyoto pitcher Alexis Perales got the win. He's now 1-0. Gunji Matsuda was tagged with the loss. Rakisuta is now 0-3.
Kyoto used a timely hit from Minehiro Smith to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Owls ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Smith.
