| Baltimore Blanks Houston, 5-0 | In a seemingly effortless performance, Jose Martinez of the Baltimore Clippers shot down the Houston Comets, 5-0, on 2 hits.
"Jose was just locating so well and using his pitches," Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Martinez recorded 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Houston manager Glenn Carney said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
