| Millers Handle Philadelphia, Snag 7-3 Win | The Minneapolis Millers picked up a win at Hennepin County Stadium, downing the Philadelphia Keystones, 7-3. On the mound for Minneapolis was right-hander Van Taylor, who played a pivotal role in the win. Taylor, now 5-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The 4th-place Millers go to 57-67.
Monte Rollins had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the fifth for Minneapolis. With the bases loaded and the Millers leading 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"Van's as tough as he is talented," said Minneapolis manager Harry Hammond.
