Chiefs Lose to Keystones, 6-3 | Fans of the Philadelphia Keystones who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Philadelphia win over the visiting Chicago Chiefs, 6-3. Jorge Arellano started for the home team against Vern Osborne. Harry Dellinger earned accolades for his performance. Jorge Arellano, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1.
Philadelphia shortstop Al Coulter contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Keystones ahead, 5-0.
