Linn was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 for the Lancers. Detroit pitcher Frank Aldrich got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fred Reimer got the loss. Justin Chipman was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Linn had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth, when he hit a double. The Lancers went on to win.
