| Blackburn Breezes to Shutout Victory | Johnny Blackburn of the Houston Comets shut out the Boston Minutemen, 4-0, at Minuteman Stadium, holding them to 1 hit with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Boston skipper Dode Edwards called the outing from Blackburn "a jewel."
"The way Blackburn was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
