Stars Topple Wranglers with Late Rally | Dallas shortstop Earle Farmer had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-5, to Los Angeles at Bigsby Stadium. Farmer went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Los Angeles reliever Ted Ferguson picked up the win, upping his record to 10-8. Hank Berkowitz took the loss. The losses continue to pile up for Dallas, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Tom Clement came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Hank Berkowitz, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 6-5.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Los Angeles skipper Charley McCullough. | |
