Cougars Drop Sailors, 5-4
Golden Gate Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the San Francisco Sailors and Chicago Cougars.

The Chicago Cougars beat the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4. Chicago pitcher and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native Roy Ellis led the way. The win makes Chicago 50-39.

Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Gene Case to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Case.
