Lorang Shines in 4-1 Washington Win
The Washington Eagles topped the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-1, at Columbia Stadium. Washington third baseman Tom Lorang was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Bob Ball, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1957 draft, was the winning pitcher. Over 9 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The third-place Eagles now have a win-loss record of 83-70.

In the bottom of the first, Lorang had a 2-run home run for Washington. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Eagles on top, 2-0.
