| Frazee, Sailors March to 7-4 Victory | The San Francisco Sailors polished off the Montreal Saints by the score of 7-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to catcher Earl Frazee. Frazee was 2-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Sailors. The winning pitcher was 34-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Teal. He tossed 115 pitches over 8.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. At 58-64, the Sailors claim 5th place in the Continental Association West.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Frazee hit a slider from Don Curtis for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Sailors ahead, 3-0.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Frazee told the San Francisco Gazette. | |
