| Gothams Deal Minneapolis 5-3 Defeat | Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the New York Gothams and Minneapolis Millers.
The New York Gothams beat the Minneapolis Millers, 5-3, at Hennepin County Stadium. The win was due in part to left fielder Bill Arndt, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Joe Nelson, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 10-7.
With no one out in the top of the seventh, Sam Hamilton had a game-changing hit. The Gothams shortstop slammed a 2-run single off Hub Huffman, making the score 4-1, New York.
