| Comets Score Late, Upend Eagles, 7-3 | Houston pitcher Joe McCarthy had a large part in his team beating the Washington Eagles, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Bob Young earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 8-8. The Comets now own a record of 65-57.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Hank Andrew was at the plate when Houston scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Comets to go in front, 5-3.
