St. Louis Rallies to 5-2 Win
St. Louis and Boston got after it at Minuteman Stadium.

The St. Louis Pioneers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Red Kline. The right-hander kept the Boston offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 St. Louis victory at Minuteman Stadium. The triumph puts St. Louis at 62-61 for the season.

St. Louis used a timely hit from Sam Peterson to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pioneers ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

In postgame comments to the St. Louis Times, Kline said, "Our goal is to stack wins."
