The Pittsburgh Miners beat the Boston Minutemen, 9-7, at Fitzpatrick Park. Eddie Thomas, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Miners organization, starred for Pittsburgh. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Pittsburgh pitcher Manny Espinosa earned the win, hiking his record to 6-8. Ray Gonyea suffered the loss. The 4th-place Miners have won 4 straight games.

Pittsburgh first baseman Frank Selander contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Miners ahead, 8-0.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Pittsburgh manager Harry Barrell.
