| Gothams Come Up Short at Chicago, 2-1 | The Chicago Chiefs tallied a win at Whitney Park, throttling the New York Gothams, 2-1. Starting pitcher Johnny Maples was a big reason for his team's success. The third-place Chiefs now have a win-loss record of 65-60.
Don Barker came through for Chicago when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.
