| Taylor Hits 2 home runs in Wolves Win | Stade Montreal was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Toronto Wolves and Montreal Saints.
The Toronto Wolves grabbed a win, 8-7, over the Montreal Saints at Stade Montreal. Toronto shortstop Jesse Taylor hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Arnie Smith, who went 8.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 10-4. Zeke Blake, credited with the save, is now 8 for 12 in save opportunities.
Toronto left fielder Tom Reed contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 102nd hit of the season and put the Wolves ahead, 8-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Taylor.
Toronto is now 42-44.
