Imperials Suffer 6-4 Setback
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, knocking off the New York Imperials, 6-4. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander George Dunnigan. He played a key role in the triumph. Jackie Thompson earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 13-3. At 74-46, the Stars are currently first in the Continental Association West.

Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Bobby Garrison to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Stars on top, 6-4. For the game, Garrison had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Garrison told a reporter after the game.
