| Los Angeles Downs Cleveland, 8-6 | The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Cleveland Foresters, 8-6, at Forester Stadium. Los Angeles shortstop Bob Branson had a superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. John Green, the winning pitcher, is now 10-9. He went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 0. Vean Conrad converted his 8th save in 12 tries.
Branson contributed in the top of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Los Angeles get the win.
"Bob is still learning," said Stars manager Charley McCullough. "The sky's the limit for him."
The win boosted Los Angeles to 63-57.
