The timely hitting of Jimmy Henderson helped the Washington Eagles take down the Houston Comets, 5-3, in 12 innings. Henderson went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Eagles. Washington pitcher Earl Frazier got the win, upping his record to 8-8. Don Lincoln got the loss. Doc Lindley locked down his 3rd save.

Washington used the timely hitting of Wes Conner to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Conner.

Washington is now 51-70, Houston 64-57.
