Boston Gets 2-0 Win

The Boston Minutemen defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 2-0, in Federal Association action at Fitzpatrick Park. Boston pitcher Dick Wilson had a standout performance. Wilson yielded no runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-13. Earning his 23rd save for Boston was Don Griffin.

Boston used a clutch at-bat from Del Filo to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Minutemen ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Filo said.

The 7th-place Minutemen now have a record of 67-84.
