Wolves Score Late, Clip Cougars, 9-8
Chicago shortstop Chuck Ennis was sensational. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Toronto beat the Cougars, 9-8. Toronto reliever Bill Cox picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Augie Hicks took the loss. Ray Smith earned the save, his 13th, for the Wolves.

Pat Schmitt came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Toronto manager Carl Evans.

Toronto bumps their record to 50-69 with the win.
