| Minutemen Beaten By Dynamos, 3-1 | In a low-scoring tilt between the Detroit Dynamos and the Boston Minutemen, 34-year old left-handed pitcher Jack Vander Kooi was the difference-maker. The Detroit left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Vander Kooi, the winner, moves to 9-9. He threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Bud Dixon nailed down his 7th save.
Gil Jones, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1969 draft, chipped in a solo home run for Detroit in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
