| Toronto Absorbs 4-2 Loss to Kansas City | The Kansas City Mavericks picked up a win at Mavericks Stadium, taking down the Toronto Wolves, 4-2. Starting pitcher Dave Dalton was a big reason why. Dalton got the win, improving to 7-9. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Mavericks now have a record of 51-70 with the win over Toronto.
The Mavericks got a big at-bat from right fielder Phil James. For the game, James went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Kansas City a 3-1 lead.
"Dave kind of went out and dug down and got some outs when he needed to," said Kansas City manager Bob Bendick.
