Boston pitcher Joe Lee did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Eagles, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Lee got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Bob Hollister was credited with the save for Boston, his 8th of the season.

Boston used a clutch at-bat from Ed Wise to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Minutemen ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"They beat us fair and square," Washington skipper Roger Cleaves said.

Boston is in 8th place in the Federal Association with a record of 46-74.
