| Wolves Throttled by Stars, 3-1 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Los Angeles Stars and Toronto Wolves.
Cal Johnston pitched a gem to lead Los Angeles to victory over the Toronto Wolves, 3-1. Johnston picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Hank Myer got the save, the 11th for him this season.
Ed Moore aided the Los Angeles cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder was 1-3.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Johnston.
The victory gives the Stars a record of 43-39.
