Atlanta third baseman Jim Duchesne was sensational. He was 2-5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Copperheads, 8-4. The Dynamos move to 42-76 with the win, while the Copperheads drop to 73-45.

Detroit used a clutch hit from Jack Lucas to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dynamos ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Lucas told a Detroit Herald reporter that he felt "like dancing the hula" after the win.
