Behind a fine performance from Bob Starr, the Chicago Chiefs knocked off the Baltimore Clippers, 7-3. Starr was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 for the Chiefs. The current losing streak for Baltimore has reached 4 games.

Harry McDaniel had a big 2-run home run for the Chiefs in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 33-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Dunlavy and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Chiefs on top, 3-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh.
