| Wolves Down Sailors, 5-4 | Dominion Stadium was host to some action-packed drama.
The Toronto Wolves picked up a win at Dominion Stadium, taking down the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for Toronto was left-hander Stan Terry. He played a central role in the triumph. The last-place Wolves are now 51-67, the Sailors 53-66.
The Wolves got a clutch hit from third baseman Leo Makepeace. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wolves.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Terry. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win." | |
