| New York Lose, 3-0, to Cougars, Bartlett | In a remarkable performance, Chicago Cougars starter Bill Bartlett beat the New York Imperials, 3-0, in an impressive 5-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Cougars hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," New York manager Jim Abernathy said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
On the season, Bartlett has a 9-4 record with a 2.34 ERA. | |
