Sailors Drop Cougars, 6-3
San Francisco parlayed a decent outing from starter Charlie Lawson into a solid win over the Chicago Cougars. The final score was 6-3. Davey Chamberlain finished to wrap up his 10th save. The Sailors are now 83-63, while the Cougars fall to 71-76.

San Francisco took a 5-3 lead on Chet Harris's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Harris hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Pug White visibly frustrated.

"Charlie gave us everything he had," said San Francisco manager Walt Zecher.
