Foresters Rough Up Imperials, 13-1
The Cleveland Foresters got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-1 win over the New York Imperials. Doing his part was catcher Hal Kennedy. Kennedy, who finished 5th in the CA in on-base percentage with .403 in 1959, was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. New York has now lost 4 straight.

With Cleveland leading 6-1 in the top of the sixth, Kennedy batted against New York pitcher Neal Salk. Kennedy hit a fastball to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 19th home run of the season put the Foresters on top, 10-1.

Kennedy told the Cleveland Times: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
