Millers Lose Late to Eagles
The Washington Eagles faced a tough opponent in Minneapolis pitcher Hub Huffman, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hennepin County Stadium by a final score of 4-3. Huffman went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Roy McDonald picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ben Baird suffered the loss. Don Maguire converted his 4th save in 7 tries.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for George Fox? The 12-year veteran Fox stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Washington up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Good to pick up this win," Fox said.

The Eagles now own a record of 58-62.
