| Millers Grind Out 2-1 Win | Fans watched the Minneapolis Millers and the Baltimore Clippers fight to the finish.
Minneapolis Millers pitcher Hub Huffman was in fine form, leading his team past the Baltimore Clippers, 2-1. Ben Baird earned his 21st save in 26 chances.
Julio Castaneda had a big run-scoring double for the Millers in the bottom of the second inning. With Minneapolis leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a slider from Johnny Hugot, who leads the FA in quality starts with 20, and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 2-0.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Baltimore manager Hank Luckenbaugh, "let me know."
Minneapolis has now won 3 straight, while the Clippers have lost 3 in a row. | |
