Gene Faulkenberry was nothing short of phenomenal for the Montreal Saints. The 21-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Los Angeles Stars, 5-1. Cliff Dinger picked up the save for Montreal, his 9th of the year. Montreal's record now stands at 34-45, placing them 8th in the Continental Association.

Ham Flanders hit a run-scoring triple off Bud Henderson in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Saints in front, 2-1. Flanders had 3 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 4 for 5.

"When I go out there," said Faulkenberry, "the last thing I want to do is let my teammates down."
