Comets Snag 12-5 Win
The Houston Comets faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Joe Nelson, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Gotham Stadium by a final score of 12-5. Nelson went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Houston, at 63-55, occupies second place in the Federal Association West.

Houston used the timely hitting of Lindsay Cohn to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Comets on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We came out aggressive," said Comets manager Glenn Carney. "We came out swinging the bats."
