Eagles Win, 4-2, Extend Streak to 5 Games | The Washington Eagles picked up a win at Columbia Stadium, topping the Boston Minutemen, 4-2. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Tom Arencibia. He played a principal role in the triumph. Washington has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Al Clark went 1-2 with a walk for Washington. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Bob Hollister. It was his 63rd RBI of the season.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Boston skipper Bill Freeman, "and it cost us." | |
