Foresters Handle Chicago, Snag 8-1 Win
The Cleveland Foresters defeated the Chicago Cougars, 8-1. Doing his part was catcher Hal Kennedy, who was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Rufus Barrell II. His record now stands at 13-10. The left-hander went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits for the Foresters. The Foresters, at 84-61, sit in first place in the Continental Association.

The Foresters got a big hit from shortstop John Low. Facing Chicago pitcher Henry Henderson in the bottom of the sixth, Low pounded a 2-run double to right. His 47th double of the season put the Foresters ahead, 5-1.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Kennedy.
