| Pioneers Beat Keystones, 4-1, at Pioneer Field III | St. Louis and Philadelphia duked it out and the Pioneers came out victorious.
St. Louis Pioneers starter Charlie Walker found his groove in his team's 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Keystones. The winning pitcher was Walker, now 5-5. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2.
The Pioneers got an important contribution from third baseman Del Jacobs, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a first pitch screwball to left for a 2-run double. It was his 21st double of the season and put the Pioneers ahead, 3-0.
Walker called the win "an overall solid one."
With the win, St. Louis goes to 58-60, while the Keystones fall to 56-63.
