| Wolves Win Thriller, 5-4 | Wolves fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
Toronto parlayed a decent outing from starter Red Bullock into a solid win over the San Francisco Sailors. The final score was 5-4. Bill Cox earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-1.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Toronto left fielder Edwin Viramontes, facing Ralph Pierce, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Wolves the 5-4 win.
"This place was rockin'," Viramontes said.
The 5th-place Sailors dropped to 55-62. | |
