| Savage Helps Toronto Cruise to 11-3 Win | The Toronto Wolves beat the Los Angeles Stars, 11-3, at Bigsby Stadium. Toronto right fielder Ed Savage had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Arnie Smith earned the win to go to 9-7. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The Wolves now have a record of 58-58 with the win over Los Angeles.
Savage contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Toronto in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Savage took a fastball from Cal Johnston and stroked the double to left-center. His 26th double of the season allowed the Wolves to leap in front, 2-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Savage after the game.
