| Chiefs Beaten By Millers, 5-2 | Minneapolis and Chicago duked it out and the Millers came out victorious.
Minneapolis Millers starter Joe McDowell pitched his team past the Chicago Chiefs, 5-2. Bobby Crooks closed the game out for Minneapolis, earning his 8th save.
Dick Sheehan had a big 2-run double for the Millers in the bottom of the second inning. With Minneapolis leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Joe Cipolla, who finished 4th in the FA in strikeouts with 186 in 1959, and swatted a double to right. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Millers ahead, 5-0.
"Joe had good arm action, good stuff," said Minneapolis manager Frank Vance.
Minneapolis has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
