| Detroit Picks Up Another L | Behind the hitting of Jack Blair, the Atlanta Copperheads stopped the Detroit Dynamos, 4-1. Blair went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Copperheads. The Copperheads improved to a lofty 85-30.
Al Hubbard, who led the FA in wins above replacement with 11.5 in 1973, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hubbard contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Atlanta up, 2-0.
Hubbard attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
